Spring in the city. This is the view from the bus stop for the 1 bus in San Francisco, as I waited for it to take me to an interview with the CCHRC (Chinatown Community Health Resource Center) in Chinatown. I think I got the position! Now I need to reflect on whether outreach & community work is what I'd really like to do this summer. Will update later.

Interlude: Modeling
Today I modeled clothes for my aunt's organic cotton clothing business. I felt very awkward, and the photographer had to remind me, frequently, to relax my shoulders and smile.
These are images from the shoot that I have cropped. This cropping better reflects my conception of my self and the strange awkwardness, anonymity, shame and beauty of modeling.

Playing-- My Hometown
Top to bottom:
1. The place I've wanted to live since I was 9-- an outdoor room, as seen from my roof.
2. My mom grows a potted plant on each step leading up to the roof. I estimate ~40 so far.
3. Looking up from the stairs towards the roof's 'foyer.'
4. Walking to the Brookline Public Library (from the parking lot... It's cold!)
Day 76
(I am skipping days)
I take the Greyhound bus to Utica, NY to see my three-year old cousin. I draw her a picture; she's in the foreground, I'm in the back. My mouth would have been a line only, but she told me to "Make it bigger!"

Day 72
March 17, 2009.

Berkeley a la Gary Winogrand.
One paper, one debate, one 10 page draft and I am outta here, back to Boston and to applying for summer internships. Home, sweet home.

Day 70
My landlord sent us flowers.

Day 69
Mah house. With flowers.
今天申请了好几个实习工作机会,希望至少有一个会接受我。我反正只需要一个。。。其他朋友已经得到了回音,我最好就慢慢等了,继续申请了,没有其他的办法!

Day 68
Blue sky!
I wake up from a three-hour nap (again, sick) and make soup. Nancy, my littlest housemate (freshman) accompanies me. After an impromptu dinner in the kitchen, each on our respective stools, we steal out of the house to go to Moffitt. That's right: studying.
But oh well, there's also an S.A.O. Rubik's Cube party tonight. That will have to do for motivation.

Day 67
Chinese!
At the Music Library, nobly struggling to stay awake before I give up and return to my nice, warm home and sleep. I blame it on the cold I have, but it's more likely just tiredness.

Day 66
I missed Tuesday, but it is okay. Here is today's.
I woke up with a headache and stinging throat, so I missed class and work for the first time this semester. Sadly, missing work is not so easy-- I arranged for ETS to record lecture, then went to pick it up in the afternoon, went to their office in Dwinelle, got a boombox (it was a cassette) and played the tape to transcribe lecture and send it in. This is me, sitting on the floor of Dwinelle with my huge boombox and empty lunch box, listening to Prof. Olney talk about income distribution. Gah...
At least dinner made up for it. :) Thanks Berkel Berkel, thanks Jen.

Day 63--SATURDAY
March 7, 2009.S.A.O. (Student Advocate's Office) retreat to Santa Cruz. This is the boardwalk. I did not take the picture (I'm in it!) and I forgot my camera at home.

Day 64--SUNDAY
March 8, 2009.
Last session of the Dean's T.E.A.M., a group facilitation training session that I loved.
All-day retreat with facilitation projects by everyone and a ropes course on redwood trees.
I miss it already.
I didn't take this shot, but it captures the feeling quite aptly. I'm the one on the end, on the bottom right.
